President's Message by Jim MurphyOur June Picnic was a big hit! We had 116 people sign up and everyone looked like they were having a great time! Our next outing will be at A.J. Gators in September; there is no cost to attend and Forshaw has generously offered to provide hors d’oeuvres. There will be reduced beverage pricing and your significant other is also invited. More info to be provided next month. If you aren’t attending meetings on a regular basis, you are really missing out. You can get a good meal and keep up with the current treatment protocols and regulations regarding our Industry at the same time! If money’s a little tight or you’re on a 200 calorie a day diet, you can skip the meal and still keep up your education. Fellow PCO’s share their problem solving strategies and get help when they need it. For example: How many of you are clear on the new Rodenticide Act? It was explained in detail at our April meeting. Are you up on your treatment protocols for Stinkbugs? That was discussed at our May meeting. Consider bringing some of your younger, up and coming employees to the meeting. Let them see how many people have successful careers in our industry, and how much the community depends on us. Show them that we take our responsibilities seriously, but don’t mind having a little fun at the same time. Remind them that this can be a challenging and rewarding career, and not just a temporary job. Be safe and stay hydrated – it’s brutal out there! Jimmy Minutes from June 2011 meeting
